My Holidays Diary (part II)

Rain asked yuan what he wanted for Christmas, he said he wants a pet, and he wants a turtle. We both knew that my father would disagree about the idea because for him, these species belong to their natural habitat, I did mention in my previous posts that he is a devout environmentalist. So rain asked yuan to ask for tatay’s permission who later agreed. When it comes to yuan he is the spoiler. So I went to bio research and bought a turtle, when yuan saw it he was very amazed and he called it goggles. The original plan was to put it in the aquarium with boom boom, our two year old dragon fin, but it didn’t materialize and so rain bought a separate aquarium for goggles and placed it to yuan’s room above his bookshelf.

I had prior plans of meeting with my hs batchmates that day, beth invited us over her newly -bought house in Rizal and they had a celebration for her brother’s birthday. Along with goggles I went to SM Marikina where I met up with beth’s family who fetched Helen and Zafia in Pasay. Their place is quite far but her house’s so big, I’m happy that she was able to buy something like that from her and her husband’s hardwork. Congratulations beth, you deserve it. We only stayed for few hours because len had to rush home for a graveyard shift in Makati, furthermore, I still had a date with my family.

I got a ticket for 5 at klownz quezon avenue. Tatay, who was hesitant at first, joined me, Pen and ate Lala. As usual the place was jammed but still we managed to get a table comfortable enough for the four of us. It was my first time to go out with the three of them on a place like that, it’s not their kind of thing yah know. I missed rain that night coz she’s my bar buddy but seeing the three of them enjoying the gags made my night.

December 31

The last day of 2008.

It was also the first time our family would celebrate New Year’s eve in Manila. If we were in Mindoro it would be really different. Mas masaya kasi mas marami. Asela came in the morning with her two sons Aaron and Paulo all the way from Muntinlupa. I haven’t seen her in a while. She changed a lot since I last saw her, and the good thing is I saw how she matured as a responsible mother. I am proud of my pretty pamangkin naman. For the whole time we were talking I can only see a strong and a happy lady who’s surviving life and living it to the fullest. Iba-iba talaga destiny ng tao.

Celebrating New Year in Manila was solemn for we only stayed in the house. We really don’t buy firecrackers during new year because we don’t enjoy it. Weird family kami eh, hehehhe. We just turned on the television, set the videoke and sang all our favorite songs along with the noise outside the subdivision. Two hours after midnight, the noise from the neighborhood stopped, they ran out of firecrackers and paputok. Ate Lala gave this funny comment which made us all laugh “ Ano sila wala na silang paputok, tayo nag-iingay pa…libre pa!”
